Coming from Newcastle city centre along New Bridge Street cross the Byker Bridge and take the FIRST road on the LEFT ( before the big roundabout) into Elizabeth Street. ( If cycling you can come along the shared use pavement on Byker Bridge or approach from the north side of the railway through Heaton.)
 

Coming from Byker or Shields Road go past the big roundabout by Morrisons towards the City centre. After 150 metres take the right hand lane and turn across the traffic into Elizabeth Street. (don't cross the Byker Bridge - you go under the Metro  bridge at this point). You'll see Gills of Byker, ERB Services.  (If cycling or walking  avoid the main road by taking Wilfred St (see map))

Then
Turn LEFT into Hannington Street parallel to the main line railway. You'll see the Brick Works and Byker tyres, the wonderful graffiti, and a sign for Recyke y'Bike. Go through double gates and follow the lane down and round.  And there we are underneath  the arches!
